PRECISION GROUND RODS / VALUE ADDED SERVICES
Centerless Grinding
Outside-diameter grinding for precision ground bars, cylindrical stock and suitable machined components.
Choose the Right Centerless Grinding Method
Centerless grinding controls a cylindrical workpiece with a grinding wheel, regulating wheel and support blade. The processing route depends on diameter, geometry, straightness, heat-treatment condition and finish requirements. It is an outside-diameter process; internal bores require a different operation.
Thru-Feed Grinding
Best evaluated for long, consistently cylindrical bars and parts without interfering shoulders.
In-Feed Grinding
For selected shoulders, stepped geometries and parts that cannot pass continuously through the wheels.
Long-Bar Grinding
Additional support and handling planning for longer precision rods and shafting.
What We Review Before Quoting
- Material alloy and heat-treatment condition, including hardness if applicable.
- Incoming bar diameter, stock removal allowance and finished upper/lower OD limits.
- Bar length and straightness, supported-span requirements and expected handling.
- Roundness and surface roughness callouts where functionally required.
- Quantity, inspection frequency, certificates and shipping preferences.
A Complete Processing Route
When the drawing requires it, grinding can be combined with straightening and polishing. Cut lengths, chamfered ends and suitable packaging can be included in an overall bar order. No single universal tolerance or stock-removal rate is guaranteed for every grade.
Send Your Bar Requirements for Review
Include the grade and condition, incoming and finished size, OD tolerance, length, quantity, surface finish, straightness, documentation needs, and any drawing. Availability and achievable requirements are confirmed with each quotation.
