GRADE & CONDITION MATTER

Explore Specialty Steel & High-Strength Alloy Rods by Exact Grade

Certain high-performance and trade-designated materials cannot be classified reliably by generic ‘steel’ purchasing language. We review the exact chemistry, controlled properties, supplied heat-treatment state and test reports before machining or grinding.

Select a material below for grade-specific standards, typical supplied conditions, processing considerations and quotation requirements. Grade listing does not indicate stock availability or guarantee a finished tolerance.

MATERIAL SELECTION

Selection & Processing Considerations

Review the material considerations below before specifying ground-bar finish and dimensions.

01

High-Strength Specialty Materials

A286 and Maraging 300 require their own grade and condition criteria, and are not direct substitutes for ordinary alloy steel.

02

Trade-Designated Bar

ETD 150 should be sourced with the relevant manufacturer’s or mill’s applicable mechanical-property and material documentation; do not assume equivalence from the trade name alone.

BUILT AROUND YOUR SPECIFICATION

Provide the exact material grade, applicable ASTM/AMS or other specification, finished outside diameter, upper and lower OD limits, required length and total quantity. Include straightness method, roughness and condition when required by your drawing.

Material descriptions guide purchasing discussion; grade certification, stock availability, heat treatment and dimensional requirements are confirmed during quotation.
