GRADE & CONDITION MATTER
Explore Tool Steel Ground Rods by Exact Grade
Tool steel precision rods for tooling, dies, punches and engineered components require the right grade, annealed or hardened condition, and allowance for subsequent machining or heat treatment. Confirm size and grindability before ordering finished rod stock.

MATERIAL SELECTION
Selection & Processing Considerations
Review the material considerations below before specifying ground-bar finish and dimensions.
01
Cold-Work Tool Steels
O1, O6, A2 and D2 differ in alloy chemistry, air/oil hardening behavior, abrasion resistance and dimensional control.
02
Shock-Resisting, Hot-Work & High-Speed
S7, H13, W1 and M2 require grade-specific condition, thermal processing and inspection requirements. Avoid applying a generic heat-treatment promise to every tool steel grade.
BUILT AROUND YOUR SPECIFICATION
