GRADE & CONDITION MATTER

Explore Stainless Steel Ground Rods by Exact Grade

Select stainless rod stock by alloy family, corrosion environment, machined component requirements and specified material condition. Precision ground OD alone does not establish the material’s corrosion suitability, mechanical properties, heat-treatment certification or finished shaft fit.

Select a material below for grade-specific standards, typical supplied conditions, processing considerations and quotation requirements. Grade listing does not indicate stock availability or guarantee a finished tolerance.

MATERIAL SELECTION

Selection & Processing Considerations

Review the material considerations below before specifying ground-bar finish and dimensions.

01

Austenitic & Free-Machining

303, 304, 316, 316L, 316LVM, 302, 321 and 347 offer different chemistry and application tradeoffs. Verify exact UNS designation and material standard rather than treating stainless grades as interchangeable.

02

Martensitic & Ferritic

410, 416, 420, 420F, 430, 430F, 440C, 440F and 446 should be selected by required corrosion behavior, machinability and applicable condition. Not every grade is hardened by the same method.

03

Precipitation Hardening & Specialty Stainless

17-4 PH, 15-5 PH, 13-8 Mo, 17-7 PH, Custom 455, Nitronic 60, X15TN and duplex stainless have distinct material standards or heat-treatment states; include the exact purchasing requirement.

BUILT AROUND YOUR SPECIFICATION

Request a quote on this material family

Provide the exact material grade, applicable ASTM/AMS or other specification, finished outside diameter, upper and lower OD limits, required length and total quantity. Include straightness method, roughness and condition when required by your drawing.

Material descriptions guide purchasing discussion; grade certification, stock availability, heat treatment and dimensional requirements are confirmed during quotation.
