Common Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy Specifications & Heat Treatment
| Material | Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy |
|---|---|
| Common bar reference | ASTM B574 for UNS N06022 nickel alloy bar (Hastelloy C-22 type). |
| Heat treatment / supply condition | Typically solution annealed; not commonly specified as a precipitation-hardening grade. |
| Precision ground rod RFQ | State final OD and tolerance limits, length, quantity, material condition, surface/straightness and certificates where specified. |
Request exact UNS N06022 chemistry, certification and corrosion-service approval.
Standards shown are common order references, not automatic material certification. Any qualifying heat-treatment coordination, supply state and grinding feasibility must be confirmed on the written quotation.
ALLOY, NICKEL & SPECIALTY STEELS / PRECISION ROD STOCK
Corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy used in selected chemical processing equipment.
Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy Grade and Purchasing Standard
UNS N06022; confirm ASTM B574 or the purchase-order material specification. Request a mill test report and condition certification whenever the material grade or final mechanical properties are critical. A ground rod’s dimensions and appearance do not establish metallurgical conformance.
Material Condition and Ground Finish
State solution-annealed condition and corrosion-related acceptance as needed.
The manufacturing sequence may involve heat treatment, straightening and outside-diameter finishing. These steps should be planned around the material’s condition and the application’s surface/straightness requirements, especially for long slender parts.
Where Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy Ground Rods May Be Used
Chemical process rods, valves and engineered fasteners.
The component’s design and acceptance standard must be used to establish whether the alloy is appropriate. These are application examples, not a representation that the supplier is approved for any specific regulated industry.
Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy Centerless Ground & TG&P Bar Options
Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy Centerless Ground Bar
For Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy centerless ground rod or bar, the chemical-service design must define C-22 material form, OD, finish and inspection separately. See centerless grinding for diameter and finish considerations.
Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy TG&P / Turned, Ground & Polished
For Hastelloy C-22 Nickel Alloy TG&P (TGP) or turned, ground and polished bar, Hastelloy C-22 TG&P should not be assumed available as routine shaft stock; confirm process suitability and documentation. See material sourcing and bar polishing options.
TG&P describes a full processing route, not merely a ground OD. Verify grade, condition, dimensional limits, bar length, finish, inspection and availability in a written quotation. Request pricing →
Engineering Considerations
Do not replace C-276 without engineering review of service chemistry and specification.
Required Details for a Complete Rod Quote
- Alloy: full designation, standard and condition, plus any material test report or special examination requirements.
- Geometry: finished outside diameter, upper/lower limits, length, straightness with inspection span and surface roughness where specified.
- Processing: identify supply of finished rod stock versus grinding customer-owned material, heat-treatment sequence and protective handling.
- Production: quantity, release schedule, required delivery date and ship-to area.
Ask About Availability and Precision Processing
Precision Ground Rods coordinates sourcing and finishing inquiries on a quotation basis. We assess material availability and manufacturing suitability per order, including outside-diameter grinding, straightening, polishing and cut-to-length operations as appropriate. No listed grade or dimension is guaranteed in stock without quotation.
